CMT Crossroads Taping| admin | News
Hey guys, I found some articles mentioning the CMT taping. Taylor was so excited to be doing the CMT crossroads with Def Leppard and called it her childhood dream.
During the taping of the show Taylor told the crowd after performing Def Leppard’s huge hit “Photograph”, “This is my childhood dream come true, I’m freaking out that that just happened!”
Not one to usually hide her emotions, Swift explains her excitement to People magazine about performing with the band she says she listened to while in the womb. “My mom was a huge fan of theirs when she was pregnant with me,” Swift says. “So growing up, the music that was playing in my house was Def Leppard. It was music that she liked that I could like too.”

And apparently, the group has no idea who Taylor was when they first heard her name. They put her on search engine and they were surprised to know how young she is, how many record she is selling, and how pretty she is. Haha.
Swift previously told us that she placed the initial phone call to Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen about doing the show more than a year ago. However, the group’s lead singer, Joe Elliott, said that Allen never delivered the message.
Despite the communication breakdown, the pairing came together, as Elliott explained at a press conference held prior to the taping. “Our tour accountant came on our bus with his laptop open and said, ‘Have you seen this?’and it was an article that Taylor had done that had been put on to a website — Variety magazine maybe — and it just mentioned if she was ever to do Crossroads she wanted to do it with us. Of course we were going, ‘Who is it?’because we didn’t know, so we just googled her, iTuned her, listened to it all and then said, ‘Well, wow!‘Then you look at how many records she was selling, then look at how young and pretty she is . . . (Swift) Awww! (Elliott) And how exciting it is to be at that point of her career ’cause we were there once a long time ago before you were born (Swift) (laughter) and of course, you know, the first thing we did 15, 20 minutes later was, ‘Let’s try and get a hold of her. Let’s see if we can actually get this going!’ It took a year, but here we are.”

According to CMT, song selections included Swift’s “Picture to Burn” and Def Leppard’s “Photograph.”
Another one from People:
The collaboration resulted in a few unexpected moments – like Elliott joining Swift in the chorus of her new song, “Love Story,” crooning along with the lines, “You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess.”
Says Elliot with a laugh, “I’m comfortable with my feminine side!”
At the Crossroads taping (airing Nov. 7), the artists teamed up on Def Leppard classics like “Pour Some Sugar on Me” and Swift’s hits such as “Picture to Burn.”
The show will air on November 7th.
